The story of Wonderland 45

Henk, the owner of Wonderland 45, has been an avid fisherman since his childhood, enjoying many fishing trips with his loved ones.

When his retirement was on the horizon, he decided to utilize his property in Tweedraght, just outside Pretoria East on the Boschkop Road, and transform it into a fishing resort for all to enjoy.

The resort is easily accessible from Johannesburg, Pretoria, Witbank, Bronkhorstspruit, Delmas, or Secunda, making it a convenient getaway spot for folks in Gauteng and Mpumalanga.

The Boschkop river, which runs through the property, begins 800 meters east of the resort from a fountain. The water is clear and pure, free from any pollution. Henk cleared the trees and began digging the dams, working long hours with the help of TLBs and excavators to create the beautiful landscape. The resort was officially opened to the public on December 1, 2013.

After the grass had covered the area, Henk had nine camping stands measured out for the long Easter weekend. Now, there are 25 camp stands and picnic areas around all the dams, each with a built-in braai and grill, electricity connections, a light, and a rubbish bin.

The ablutions were expanded to include two showers and a bathroom. The resort’s reception is at the gate, with a shop selling basic fishing gear, ice, ice cream, cold drinks, snacks, and everything you may need for a picnic or camping trip.
